Rules Concerning Absence

  • Anyone who is absent on the previous day will not be admitted to the class without the permission of the Principal/Vice Principal
  • For leave of absence for 1-3 days, it is sufficient to apply through the pages of the Diary. For leave of absence for more than 3 days, a letter of application along with a medical certificate must also be sent as per the requirement
  • No leave may be taken except on prior written application from Parent/Guardian and only for very serious reasons.
  • For leave of absence for more than three days, the parents of the absentee should meet the Principal or Vice-Principal and get the leave application of their ward sanctioned by the afore mentioned authorities.
  • Every absence, sick leave or otherwise, even for a day, must be entered in the NON-ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE RECORD page in the Diary and signed by Parent/Guardian.
  • A student who is absent for a test or exam without a legitimate reason will receive a zero for the test/exam.
  • Repeated absence without leave or unexplained absence for 10 or more consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off from the rolls. Re-admission. if granted, will be done on payment of a re-admission fee.
  • All are expected to attend class on the opening day after each of the vacations. Those absent without prior leave will have to pay a fee of RS. 10.00 per day. Those absent because of sickness must inform the school before or on the reopening of the school and present a medical certificate before they are admitted to class, failing which they must pay the above penalty. Absence without permission/information for more than five days after a vacation renders the student liable to dismissal.
  • Students returning to school after an infectious or contagious disease should produce a Doctor’s Certificate permitting him/her to rejoin class.
  • Money collected as penalty is used entirely to help financially underprivileged students of this school.
  • Regular attendance of at least 85% at school and diligent application to study are essential to a student’s success. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school in both areas.
